We Lite a candle today to remember a horse who was in the stable 2 down from Lilly. Brenda has been very ill for a while with colic on and off with other complications. Her owner knew this was the right decision for her beautiful horse. Now she can rest in peace.
Well I never saw anything of Caz and Chris yesterday they went out at 1.00 and did not return home until 10.00 that night. They went to help some friends of theirs prepare for a Haloween party in their house. They came back and told William, who had stayed at home after Emma had stagged on first to look after Bramble and me what they had been doing.
They covered all the ceiling and one wall in dark material to give a cave effect one end of the lounge. Then on the rest of the walls they used these to wall paper effects on all the rest of the walls.
They hung scarey things like bats and witches all over the roof, and lots of other scarey effects, I was frightened just listening. They will be going on wednesday all done up in their fancy dress,by the way both have taken the next day off. Caz is taking her camara so there will be loads of photo's to show you all. Apparently they are having gooooooooouuuulash for their supper. Very scarey food, hope they bring me some back.
Ludo has always been interested in watching the television especially all the adverts with dogs in. We have noticed recently he just does not like the dogbot advert. We never let ludo bark but he runs to wards the tele and barks at the dogbot then scoots around the room. Bramble looks at him out of the corner of his eye as if he is barmy.Very strange.
Anyone else have the same reaction with there dogs, and what do they like watching.
Thankyou Noah for the big snow ball it got me on the nose Ive passed it on.

Yes as you are all aware we lost the rugby but the the party was a big success. I laughed this morning as I texted my friend to say another great party thanks and she replied "yes glad you enjoyed it, just put the house back together and went to empty the dish washer and found a pair of boots in there" I laughed and said to chris what was in the text he said "Iwondered where my shoes had gone I had to walked home in my socks. Why did I not notice he did not have his shoes on,don't answer that. Apparently his shoes are clean and waiting to be picked up. hahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahah.
Well tonight should be fun we are off to a rugby party at a friends house. Well there are 14 of us who are going out first to a greek resturant. Then back to the house to watch England v South Africa we will all be on tender hooks. I expect a lot of shouting and screaming at the telly will be going on. We may have to have a few grossa beers, it would be rude not to.Hopefully we will win and carry on the celebrations, mind you no harm in carrying on even if they loose hahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahah.
Yesterday was my birthday I had some lovely presents,2 bouquets of flowers, horsey gear, gorgeous candle in a vase from Emma and a Catherine Tate dvd and a expensive box of perfume, gosh I do like the kids working. Of course I did have a wet beardy kiss off ludo.In the evening we went out to a restaurant with our friends for some yummy German supper. We had plenty of grossa beers, this morning I just did not want to get up.I had a brill birthday, roll on the next.

I would like to tag The Thuglets and Molly and Taffy.
Ludo had a new ball and when he has anything new he expects me to play with him, does he not get it, I'm at the age where I like to lay in the sun and sleep.I always give in after a lot of pestering, its the best way to shut him up. By the way he wrecked it in half a hour and was put in the bin, to chewed to mend.
I watched Ronaldo yesterday try his new jog ball out, he did not have a clue to use it. I nose poked him a couple of times just so he could get the hang of it,this did not go down to well. I got bored after a while he just could not get the hang of the running around, not like Harribo the hamster who would sprint round the whole room.
This afternoon Lilly was feeling back to herself so we went for a gentle hack out.Emma rode so I took the camara and ludo who always loves to come with us out to the woods.Of course she was good and Ludo ran around her feet, she does not mind him and has grown up with him about. So we had a good walk and Lilly got out and stretched her legs.
After a night of traveling back and for every 2/3 hours,Lilly is on the mend. What a sigh of relief. Her little pink nose has returned as it went white, this is a sign of bad circulation with colic. This Morning at 7.00 I checked with the lady that runs the stable and she said that if she was looking better to give her a small amount of hay. I will get some bran mash later for her tea. Lilly definitely looked a lot better and by 10.00 when I went to get the other horses in she even neighed to us as we went the yard, that must been a sure sign. Of course we will still be keeping a eye on her for the rest the day and another warm rest day for her. I don't know if its not the dogs its the kids if its not them its the horse.I am so pleased she is back on her feet. Will let you know how the day goes.
Thanks to everyone with their message's of concern I really appreciated it and so did Lilly it definitely helped all those positive vibes.
This morning I went up the yard as usual and Lilly was not herself, very quiet and had not eaten her hay, straight away I knew she was not right. I first thought it could have been the worming med I had given her the day before, which may be just unsettling her tummy.I finished mucking out and put her back in the stable she was not at this point laying down and rolling so I was not to concerned. I spoke to Chris and said I was sure she was not her self and we let a friend at the end of our stable block know how I felt and asked her to keep an eye on her. I was only home 2o Min's before I got a call saying Lilly was going down rolling and getting up and going back down again. So we went straight back down the stables where the girls had taken Lilly out of her stable and was keeping her moving around the yard. We immediately rang the vet and kept her walking until the vet arrived. The vet fully examined Lilly and found the large intestine and her colon was distended and had moved so she gave her a pain killing injection and one to reduce the gas in her colon. The vet was worried that the colon might twist .Lilly who hates injections was really good and the vet was excellent very patient and seemed very confident, the last vet was hopeless and made Lilly so frightened the whole injection was one big drama.Anyway we then had to observe Lilly . We removed her bed and hay from her stable as the injection has immediate effect and makes her feel a lot better so we did not want her to eat anything, as this just makes colic worse. At 5 o'clock we rang the vet and told her that she was not rolling anymore. So we could put a small amount of straw in her box no hay and then keep a eye on her every 2 hours, so tonight we will be going back and forth to the stables to check that she has not had a relapse, as they can easily drop back and start all over again. I'm confident that tomorrow she will be on the mend.
Saw on your blog Wendy your love of bike's, so I thought I would show you a pic of our old sports tourer. We would pack the bike up with tent and a cople of sets of clothers and go off for a weeks holiday touring Devon and Cornwall,it was fun we have sold the bike now but loads of good memories.
This morning after my walk I came home with the devil in me, and ran around like a looney trying to get Bramble to play with me, he eventually did. Then i found my fave green ball that fit nicely on the the end of my nose.
After a rest from schooling we decided yesterday to go for a hack. I went and took chris and Ludo for a ride in the woods Lilly was great the first time she had ever seen a pram and after we encouraged her to go go past she settled down to a good trot through the woods. We kept trotting back to chris and Ludo so we did not leave them behind. We also came accross a tiny Shetland pony, she thought it was a large dog, so Chris lead her past this time as we didnot want to make a fuss over a little shetland on his hack with a child on its back. So all in all it was a sucess the 2nd time out in the big wide world.
Today we decided to do some jumping, again this is a first for Lilly, she has done a few poles but never a couples of jumps one after the other. Again we made it as simple as possible and even though the jumps were small the idea was just to get her used to jumping and jump wings as these can be scarey. Lilly was not fazed at all and she took them in her stride. We will do some grid work with her next, this is a few jumps strides apart,I just can't beleive how trusting and relaxed she is. Everyday she learns something new and seems to just love it. A few photo's of Emma and Lilly.
Some of you know I have a filly which I have broken in with help from my daughter. Well she is coming on in leaps and bounds. Today we hacked out in the woods, wasn't that far but far enough to get a good trot in and she was excellent. For a youngster she takes everything in her stride. Lilly is very trusting and being a Arab once you gain their trust you are half way there. Giving her lots of encouragement with the right aids just helps so much. Will go for another hack tomorrow can't wait, ludo will come tomorrow, Bramble is too old but look forward to having both my babies out together.
I've searched through my old photo's and found some great Photo's of Ludo. He was such a darling of a pup. Hope you enjoy them.
